Almost 5 years ago, a handful of people invested in a dream to start a church called Journey. Since that time, countless lives have been touched. We’ve seen people come to Know God, Find Freedom, Discover their Purpose and start Making A Difference in their world! We’ve witnessed the birth of a Youth Ministry, small groups multiplying, addictions broken, families strengthened, physical healings, and more than 600 individuals come to know Christ! Every one of us has benefited from their investment, and now it’s our turn to invest in the next generation. 

 

This Sunday, April 19th, we are gathering for what I know will be a holy moment. A moment in which we come together to give and to make a commitment over the next two years. I’m believing it will be more than a moment, it will be a monumental time in our church. Years down the road we will look back on this moment and reflect on the miracles God has done because of it. For we're not just giving to a building—we're giving to lives changed and generations impacted. We're joining in Christ's mission and through our generosity Christ is forming in us more of His nature and likeness. While we build His church, He is building us, making us disciples who make disciples—ones that are making a difference for eternity! 

 

Our goal is not for a certain amount to be given, but for everyone to participate in some way. It’s not about equal giving, but equal sacrifice. Even our children are getting involved! On Sunday in Journey Kids, they will receive a special customized Lego Brick Bank in which they too can participate and learn to grow in generosity over the next two years. No matter the amount (or the age ;), we want everyone to know that they can play a crucial part in partnering with Christ to build His church. 

 

As we prepare for Commitment Sunday, I’m simply asking you to pray and ask God what He would have you give that day and what He would have you commit over the next two years toward our future home. We’re calling it the Brick by Brick Collective—because together, we’re partnering with God to build His church and impact generations to come.

 

As always, it’s between you and the Lord, and I trust Him for however He speaks to you. Just simply ask God, “What should I give Sunday? What should I commit over the next two years?” Then follow whatever God is leading you to do. As we step out in faith, I firmly believe that we are going to see God do IMMEASURABLY MORE than all we can ask or imagine.
